After years of research and development, Tema Sistemi SpA has unveiled Nargomist70, the first and only water mist system tested and certified to protect priceless cultural property from the dangers of fire.
The Nargomist70 system is the result of the SAFENG research project, conducted in collaboration with the University of Ferrara, the National Fire Department, Ferrara Fiere and with the support of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
The main objective of the project was to create an effective fire-fighting solution in the protection of works of art using natural, human- and environment-friendly extinguishing agents. The research included in-depth theoretical and practical studies, fire tests and detailed analysis performed on historical materials donated by the prestigious Villa Borghese Gallery in Rome, such as paintings, canvas fragments and wooden frames.
Nargomist70 is distinguished by the perfect balance between several key parameters: water droplet size, amount of nitrogen, flow rate, and operating pressure. This allows for fast and efficient extinguishing, preventing water from penetrating materials and leaving no residue that can damage artwork.
